Indestroy

Indestroy is one of the best zombie thrash bands to come out of the '80s. This album features the same singer from Ironchrist (another very good thrash band) and the lyrics penned on this one really stand out as some of the best in the genre. This starts off with the great one-two punch of "The Gate" and "U.S.S.A." - two relentless and perfect thrash songs. The album only has about 2 mediocre tracks and I say mediocre because they are just a little slower than the rest. This is stuff to blast in your Iroc Camaro on a summer night while trolling for some easy prey at your local Dairy Queen as you headbang yourself into a frenzied madman.

Great blog, sir. I was briefly in a band with Mark Marcus of the might Indestroy. This is a great, and oft-overlooked bit of thrash. They were like East Coast's SLayer.

Thankyou both for your input. I did not know Mark was the singer as well in Ironchrist..Indestroy holds such a part of my teen years..being 15 and sleeping in my buddys vw bus ,skate boarding and singing 'dead girls dont say no!" when the 2nd album came out we; the guys i hung with ..were just insane for the new album...i would like to know of more that Mark Strausberg did in his carrer..thanks..Joe "life is but a silly game , one you just cant win, life is but a fantasy, or made by fatal sin" ..Mark 1987

Mark Strausberg was the original frontman/singer for Fatal Sin/Indestroy, then after he moved to San Francisco, I replaced Mark after leaving Ironchrist.

Hey Mike - thanks for clarifying. I love both Indestroy and Ironchrist albums so much. \m/

Thanks, Twins.

Wish I still had the songs off the third Indestroy to play for you, but since we never made it to the studio with 'em, there only landed on boom box cassettes and I doubt any of the old practice tapes exist. Jeff Parsons and Cougin wrote the music, I did all the lyrics. It was definitely the next step in the growth of one of the most underrated thrash bands out there, if you ask me, but I'm a bit biased.

Somebody has to have some video from our shows at the Safari Club where we played the songs, but I've yet to see any of them show up on Youtube...

Indestroys last demo was recorded in Marks basement with Chris Kozlowski 1989. It included three songs which were written by Danny Kenyon and Cougin. The other three songs on that demo were recorded by Steve Carr in Gaithersburg Md.1988 which were written by Mark and Danny and the late Shawn Williams. Mark wrote all of the lyrics for these songs.
